The Olympics have created a number of stars such as the curling team from South Korea called the Garlic Girls.
In fact, the team are so popular that when they played the US all the seats were taken. Fans were standing against the (1) back walls as well as the passage ways
It's because the crowds understand they can yell, stomp and (2) and have a good time said Rick Patzke.
Rick, who is in charge of USA Curling, has seen the crowds increase at the same time as the (3) of the South Korean team.
According to him, they play with a lot of feeling and are technically sound´. He believes that is due to their (4) so one is called Yogurt, other names include Steak, Pancake, Cho-Cho and Sunny, all come from Uiseong, a small city of only (6) 53.000 people
Back inside the gym of a girls' old high school: family, (7) teachers and neighbours gather to watch the big screen. One of them is Lee In-Young. She was the principal of the high school the garlic girls went to.
Lee explained that the sport started at her school when it replaced (8), that was after the town opened a curling centre. (Curling wasn´t known in South Korea, and it didn't have a team before 2014)
The change was worth it. The school contributed to the curling team that became the top-ranked at the Pyeongchang Olympics and the Garlic Girls are attracting a new (9) of curlers such as Jeong Soobin.
Jeong is particularly proud of the team who are(10) graduates of her school.
Their team´s coach says they want to rewrite South Korea's curling history, and with their Olympic success, they seem to be doing so.
